Long-distance relationships are never easy, but imagine being one side of a romantic triangle that spans from Indonesia to Italy ... during the pandemic. This is the premise of an up-and-coming miniseries, Jarak dan Waktu (Distance and Time), but don't despair: it's billed as a romantic comedy!

ctors Morgan Oey, Asmara Abigail and Dea Panendra are to star in Jarak dan Waktu (Distance and Time), six-episode romantic comedy miniseries set during the COVID-19 pandemic  in Jakarta and in Milan, Italy.

The series focuses on Jeff (Morgan), Kinanti (Dea) and Arina (Asmara) as they struggle to adapt to life under the reality of the pandemic, on top of an intense love triangle that is building slowly between the trio.

With their routines significantly affected by the pandemic, Jeff and Kinanti work in the media industry and so are still required to go to their Jakarta office despite a citywide lockdown. With limited options for public transportation, the two decide to carpool and split the cost.

Suddenly thrown together in their daily commute, Kinanti starts realizing she has newfound feelings toward Jeff, even though he has a girlfriend, fashion journalist Arina (Asmara).

Meanwhile, Arina, who was on assignment to cover a fashion story in Milan when the pandemic broke out, is stuck in the Italian city. As the pandemic spreads and worsens, Arina increasingly comes to rely on Jeff’s moral support, even though they are thousands and thousands of kilometers apart.

Produced by Titian Bintang Production and directed by Pritagita Arianegara and Rara Candranirukti, Jarak dan Waktu is set for a nationwide release at the end of 2020. (gis/wng)
