JAKARTA: Police have found two more houses in Koja in North Jakarta and in Tambun regency, Bekasi, owned by Sriatun or "Atun", whose alleged abortion clinic in Johar Baru was raided last week.
"We will continue searching these houses. Atun has been denying that the two houses were used for medical practices," Johar Baru Police head Comr. Theresia Mastail said Monday, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Last week, police searched two other houses belonging to Atun in Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, near her clinic.
Atun's clinic had been linked to another abortion clinic in Taman Sari, West Jakarta, owned by another woman named Cici.
On Monday, police cancelled a scheduled raid to search for bodies in the two houses in Johar Baru because Atun was suffering from gastroenteritis. She had also reportedly attempted suicide.
Atun, 35, a former cleaning service employee of Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Central Jakarta, is alleged to have run her illegal clinic for 10 years.
Police say Atun had earned hundreds of millions of rupiah from the business. -JP
