AMBI: Tebo Prosecutors' Office has named former principal Syafarudin of state-run SMPN I Tebo junior high school as a suspect in an alleged misuse of school funds worth some Rp 350 million in total.
"Having all the evidence, we detained him," said prosecutors' office head A Rahman Dwi Saputra recently, adding that the suspect was currently placed at the Muara Tebo prison.
The case was revealed following a rally and hunger strike conducted by hundreds of SMPN I Tebo students few years ago, demanding Syafarudin, then principal of the school, to resign because of his arrogance and for misusing school funds.
Some 30 teachers at the school join the band and signed a petition on the alleged misuse of funds.
The report alleged Syafarudin to have misused a number of school funds.
