andarlampung: Lampung Police foiled on Friday an attempt to smuggle 10 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 7.9 kilograms of heroin at Bakauheni Port. The drugs were confiscated from alleged couriers Ruslan Montolau, 45, and Vyrus Mayan, 36.

Lampung Police chief Brig. Gen. Jodie Rooseto said that the two suspects were detained at the seaport as they were about to cross to Java Island. “The two admitted collecting the drugs from the Garuda Hotel in Medan, North Sumatra,” he said.

Ruslan, a resident of Cempaka Putih district in Langkat, North Sumatra, and Vyrus of Tanjung Purta district, North Sumatra, were arrested after they got off motorcycle taxis.

During inspection the police found 7 kg of meth and 2.6 kg of heroin. “In a further detailed inspection, another 3 kg of meth and 5.3 kg of heroin were also discovered, Rooseto said.
