ctress Atiqah Hasiholan found her passion for acting after finishing her studies in media and psychology at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. Acting also runs in her blood, as she is the daughter of actress and activist Ratna Sarumpaet.

After her initial acting forays on the stage, she has become a mainstream star through movies such as Berbagi Suami (Love For Share), Suster N, Jamila Dan Sang Presiden (Jamila And The President), Cinta Setaman (Love Potpourri) and Pintu Terlarang (The Forbidden Door).

At the age of 30, she already has two Citra award nominations to her name, as best actress in a leading role for Ruma Maida (Maida’s House) and best actress in a supporting role in The Mirror Never Lies.

Atiqah, who recently returned from South Korea after filming the movie Hello Goodbye with boyfriend Rio Dewanto, will soon be leaving for a two-week shoot in Japan. She will star with actor Ario Bayu in the romantic drama Orenji.

When asked about the Indonesian movie scene, Atiqah said that there had been improvement in recent years. “However, there should be constant support for the Indonesian film industry. Producers should invest more in quality movies,” said the spokeswoman for a soap brand.

Keeping fit…
I do pilates twice a week and sometimes go jogging. Or I will run around my neighborhood.

My weekend …
In my profession, I sometimes have to work on the weekends too. Because I don’t work Monday to Friday from 9 to 5, sometimes my days off are Monday and Tuesday. But if I do have days off on Saturday and Sunday, I’d spend them with family, my boyfriend and friends. We can do anything, or I simply catch up with their news.

Me-time …
I like to watch movies, either in the movie theater or at home. I also like to have a massage and creambath treatment for my hair. Sometimes I go to the beauty salon for the treatments, but sometimes I call the masseuse to come to my home.

Favorite films …
If the storyline is good, I’ll like it even if it’s from Korea or other countries.

And food …
I have many favorite foods. But usually I like salty and spicy food, such as rawon (Javanese beef soup) and rendang (West Sumatran beef stew). I also like sweet stuff, such as candy, ice cream and chocolate. + Tifa Asrianti
