ogyakarta police have arrested around 20 students who allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at state vocational school SMK Negeri 3 Yogyakarta's security post, on Tuesday.

The attack began at around 8 p.m. local time on Tuesday. The first Molotov cocktail was thrown at around 8 p.m. and captured on CCTV but did not explode.

Shortly after, the school's security guard contacted police and they proceeded to the crime scene.

A group on bicycle came back at 9:15 p.m. and threw another bomb which exploded. Traffic police Brig.Chief Sudarmaji, 53, sustained burn injuries during the incident.

'We chased the suspects shortly after the incident and arrested 20 people,' said Yogyakarta City police's deputy chief of detective unit, Adj.Comr.Ellyas, on Wednesday.

'We are trying to establish a motive for the attacks because the groups do not know each other,' he added. (ebf)
