An alleged suicide bomber died in an attack on the Poso Police station in Central Sulawesi at 8:25 a.m. local time Monday.
The suicide bomber, reportedly a man, entered the police station compound on a motorcycle after forcing his way through the security check.
He detonated the bomb strapped to his body 20 meters from the security post in front of a mosque.
'The suicide bomber died on the spot. He was blown to pieces, with his legs separating from his body,' said Central Sulawesi Police chief Brig.Gen. Ari Dono Sukmanto on Monday.
No officers or civilians were injured in the attack, he said.
The police are investigating the incident and have yet to identify the suicide bomber. (hrl/ebf)
