AKARTA: Senior actress Taruli Artha Sortiana Pangariabuan, known as Ully Artha, died on Sunday night of cardiac complications at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in Central Jakarta.

'On Friday night, we took her to the hospital and then she was treated at the ICU [Intensive Care Unit], but her condition kept deteriorating,' said her husband, Gatot, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

'Until Sunday afternoon, she showed no response [to the treatment] at all.'

Gatot said before being taken to the hospital, Ully had complained of pain every time she inhaled.

In 1997, Ully underwent heart surgery and her health condition was unstable ever since.

She was buried on Monday at Taman Kusir public cemetery in South Jakarta.

Ully was the star of the film Kejarlah Daku Kau Kutangkap and was famous for her roles in sinetron (TV soap operas).
