ndonesia collected three gold medals on the second day of the pencaksilat finals at the Zayar Thiri Indoor Stadium, Naypyitaw, Myanmar,on Saturday.

The gold medals were won by Dewa Ayu Ari Partiwi in the women's artistic singles, Gusti Ngurah Arya Yuda in the men's artistic singles final and the third gold was won in the men's artistic team event.

Saturday's result boosted the confidence of coach Indra Catur as the Indonesian panca silat team is only two gold medals away from its target of five.

"Tomorrow there will be five more golds. Hopefully we can win at least five gold medals and become the overall champion," he said.

He added that he hoped his athletes would give it their all and meet the target in tomorrow's competition.

He also expressed optimism that the pencak silat team would not experience the same fate as the karate team on its first day of competition, which left Vietnam and Indonesian teams fuming over alleged unfair refereeing.

"Yesterday the host was a bit advantaged [by referees in karate]," he said.(dic)
