JAKARTA: Vice president-elect Jusuf Kalla was apparently quite taken by the new film Tabula Rasa (Blank Slate) at its premiere on Monday night.
Kalla and his wife, Mufidah (center), stayed until the end, according to executive producer Sheila Timothy (left).
'Pak JK was supposed to leave,' Sheila said, referring to Kalla by his initials, kompas.com reported. 'He had to leave by 8 p.m. because of another engagement ' but he didn't.'
'Excellent,' Kalla said after the screening in Kuningan, South Jakarta. 'It teaches many things. It teaches humanity, as well as about competition in business.'
The film tells an ethnic-tolerance-through-food story of a Papuan (Jimmy Kobogau) who meets Mak (Dewi Irawan), owner of a Minang lapak restaurant.
