AKARTA: Singer Gita Gutawa has said she will return to Indonesia'€™s music scene after recently completing a Master'€™s program in economics at the University of Birmingham in England.

Gita is keen on applying what she has learned in the UK to advance the country'€™s creative industry, according to tribunnews.com.

'€œI have a task to open discussion on creative economy. I want to apply my knowledge,'€ she said in Jakarta on Thursday.

The daughter of music composer Erwin Gutawa said she had gained different perspectives on music, film and art industries during her studies.

'€œIn England, the music industry has developed well because everything [art and film industries] goes in the same direction. We see a different condition in Indonesia, where every industry goes its own way.'€
