AKARTA: The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency held a fire drill at the Ciputra World 1 building in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, on Friday.
The head of the agency, Subejo, said that the simulation aimed to figure out what actions should be taken by the building management when fire breaks out and before firefighters arrive at the scene.
'So before we arrive at the location, they will have managed the fire and evacuated the building of visitors, occupants and staff,' Subejo said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
Subejo said the fire drill was organized jointly by his agency and the building management. As many as 10 fire trucks and 50 personnel were deployed in the drill.
'The building's management acted in accordance with the Standard Operational Procedure [SOP]. They just lack a loudspeaker and I've told to the management to get one,' he said.
