Imam Prasodjo on panel, Ira Koesno to moderate first gubernatorial debate

oted sociologist from the University of Indonesia Imam Prasodjo will be among the panel of experts in the first official debate of the Jakarta gubernatorial election, which will be moderated by experienced TV host Ira Koesno on Friday evening.

Besides Imam, kompas.com reported the dean of Jakarta State University’s Language and Arts faculty, Aceng Rahmat, urban planning expert from Trisakti University Yayat Supriatna and economist from the Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) Enny Sri Hartati would also be on the panel, who were expected the grill the three gubernatorial candidate pairings.

The pairs are Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono-Sylviana Murni, Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama-Djarot Saiful Hidayat and Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno.

The commission said the panelists and moderator were obliged to allow each candidate a fair opportunity to deliver their vision and mission for the capital, as well as to answer questions.

The panelists and moderator are not allowed to give their opinions, comments, evaluations, conclusions of what the candidates had to say.

The first debate will discuss affordable education and health services, the environment, transportation, as well as economic and social issues. (jun)
