oard of commissioners of state-owned energy company Pertamina has submitted three candidates for the company president director position, following the dismissal of Dwi Soetjipto and Ahmad Bambang from their positions as president director and deputy president director, respectively.
“The names have been in the hands of President Joko Widodo,” said Pertamina main commissioner Tanri Abeng in Jakarta as reported by tribunnews.com.
Meanwhile, Edwin Hidayat Abdullah, another Pertamina commissioner, said the three were selected from five candidates by Pertamina board of commissioners. He declined to mention the names of the candidates.
He expressed the hope that the new Pertamina leader would be able to lead the company to become a world-class company as mandated by the government.
“We cannot expect that the leader will know all technical issues. The most important thing is that the leader must have leadership skills, vision and strategy to take Pertamina to become a world-class energy company,” he said.

The candidates from outside Pertamina reportedly include Energy and Mining Resources Deputy Minister Archandra, state-owned Plantation Holding president director Elia Massa Manik and state-owned electricity company PLN president director Sofyan Basir.
The name of Pertamina's CEO is expected to be announced sometime this March. (bbn)
