Senayan fight back to tie game against TKCC Royals

In a dramatic twist, Senayan CC managed to claw back from a losing position to tie its game against TKCC Royals, recording the first tied game of the season in the Texmoda JCA league.

Mukesh Khetan’s double strike in his first over meant that Senayan were off to a shaky start.

Viraj Bhammar, who has been searching for form this season, staged a mini-recovery, but succumbed to Rajesh for just 20 runs. It was up to Rakesh Gowda again to anchor one end and build partnerships with Parag and Shaijal.

Senayan were looking good to accelerate in the last 5 overs, but the wily Swaroop Chavan bowled superbly at the death, claiming five and bowling out Senayan for a below par 129 runs.

The TKCC top order began the chase well with Subhash, Rajesh and Jimmy Bumb all scoring runs. At the end of the 16th over, TKCC looked like getting to the target with balls to spare as they needed just 21 runs in 4 overs.

Raj Kapadia then bowled a superb 17th over with a run-out to get rid of the well-set Rajesh.

The experienced Ashit followed up with a superb 19th over, where only 3 runs were scored. Nine runs were needed off the last over and the first 4 balls went for singles. A crucial dot ball followed, which meant that 5 runs were needed for the win off the last ball. Suren could manage only a 4, however, leading to a tied result.

Menara CC caused a huge upset by handing Yadavas Chairos Tigers their first loss of the season.

The Tigers kept losing wickets at regular intervals to the bowling of debutants Roney and Mutahir Akram, which meant that they could not cross the 200 run mark as they were bowled out for 187 runs. Ahmad Ramdoni was the Tigers’ best batsman of the day.

In reply, Menara lost its openers early but Usman Muhammad and Kartik Kapoor put together a superb counter-attacking partnership of 90 runs to get the chase back on track. Budiarta then struck with 3 quick wickets to pull things back for the Tigers, but Sajid Ali stepped up with a crucial 35 runs in a 60 run partnership with Kartik to guide Menara to a big win.

Mufasil Muhammed has been in a rich vein of form recently ever since he decided to curb his big hitting instincts in the initial part of his innings.

This form served Ceylon CC very well as they comfortably beat Mavecrics CC in a T20 encounter at Cibubur this Sunday.

After Soham Pansare had accounted for Gaurav and Dihan, Mufasil and Baba Sivasankaran went about reconstructing the innings. Ceylon ended up giving Mavecrics a target of 137 runs.

Milind Shirodkar and Karan Tiwari put up a 100 run opening stand, but they could not accelerate at the right time, meaning 38 runs were needed in the last 4 overs. Rajeev Kumar bowled brilliantly giving away just 7 runs in his 4 overs and support from Sanjeewa meant that Ceylon restricted Mavecrics to just 122 in their 20 overs.

Earlier, rain had forced the game between Emerio CC and Jakarta Barbarians to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.
