The KPK says Singaporean authorities aided in the process.
former member of top management at Indonesian business giant Lippo Group, Eddy Sindoro turned himself in on Friday to the antigraft body after two years living abroad as a wanted man.
“[He] has surrendered. We’ll immediately hold a press conference for more details,” Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Agus Raharjo said on Friday.
He also cited that Singaporean authorities aided in the process.
Eddy is a suspect in a bribery case implicating Supreme Court secretary Nurhadi. He is accused of being involved in the handling of a case review.
The KPK arrested Central Jakarta District Court registrar Edy Nasution in 2016 on suspicion of accepting a bribe from businessman Doddy Aryanto, who worked for developer PT Paramount Enterprise International. The company is reportedly a Lippo Group subsidiary for which Eddy served as chairman. Both Edy and Doddy were sentenced to prison in 2016.
The antigraft body started its hunt for Eddy in 2016.
Earlier on Monday, the KPK named Eddy's lawyer, Lucas, a suspect for allegedly helping Eddy escape arrest. (nfr/evi)
