The Mobil Curhat program, which provides free health counseling to Bogor residents, was launched on July 6, 2014.
he Bogor Health Agency has provided another Mobil Curhat (confide car) in an attempt to improve the city’s health counseling service for residents.
“There is one additional Mobil Curhat this year. So, now we have two units,” agency head Rubaedah said on Monday.
“The community has enjoyed the Mobil Curhat service. It can serve around 100 to 200 people every time it operates,” she said as quoted by Antara.
The Mobil Curhat program, which provides free health counseling to Bogor residents, was launched on July 6, 2014.
The consultations -- provided by the agency in cooperation with Bogor Agriculture University’s Human Ecology Faculty -- initially only covered family consultations and nutritional issues.
It now also provides other services, namely the detection of non-communicable diseases, voluntary counseling and testing for HIV/AIDS, as well as counseling on how to quit smoking.
Rubaedah said the new unit would be complemented by a cervical cancer early detection tool.
“An IVA Test service will also be provided. [...] a service [to detect] cervical cancer.”
Rubaedah added that the agency had planned to expand the counseling service along with the addition of another Mobil Curhat.
The car, which was only used in the city, will also be made available at events held on Sempur Field in Bogor, schools and shopping malls. (sau)
