he KM Arwana capsized after smashing into coral in Karang Bongkok Island waters in Thousand Islands on Thursday morning. The boat was carrying 16 passengers, 12 adults and four children.

Thousand Islands Tourism Service Association head Micky Musleh said the cause of the incident was still under investigation.

“The incident occurred while the boat was heading to Pramuka Island from Kelapa Island. All passengers have been rescued,” said Micky as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.

All passengers had been rescued by the afternoon.

On Monday, the KMC AD-16-05 that belonged to the Jakarta Military Command Jaya also sunk in Thousand Islands waters.

The boat was carrying people who were preparing for a social event on Pramuka Island, which was slated to be held on Wednesday. (vla)
