he Depok transportation agency will soon launch a bus called Oren or cool odong-odong (amusement ride) to boost tourism in the city.

The West Java administration handed over one of its double-decker buses to the Depok municipality, the agency head Dadang Wihana said. The bus is an open-top bus like the ones used in the provincial capital of Bandung called Bandros (Bandung Tour on a Bus).

“I want to encourage residents to take the ride so it can become a good trend [in Depok],” he said as reported by kompas.com on Friday.

The bus would operate from Grand Depok city to Cilodong Lake up to Jatijajar bus terminal, Dadang added.

Although the service would be launched soon, Dadan did not provide details on the exact date as the administration was still decorating the bus.

Once operational, its management would be handed over to the Depok Organization of Land Transportation Owners.

Depok is among 27 municipalities and regencies in West Java that received the tourism bus from the West Java administration. West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil first launched Bandros as a tourism ride when he served as Bandung mayor in 2014. (ggq)
