Transjakarta to provide services to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
ransjakarta has announced that it has embarked on a partnership with PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II, the management of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, to provide services to and from the airport.
“We are happy about the partnership between Transjakarta and AP II to support mass transportation services for Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang,” Transjakarta president director Agung Wicaksono said on Sunday as quoted by tempo.co.
Agung said the new Transjakarta route would serve as alternative for people to reach the airport. He hoped it would also alleviate traffic congestion on roads surrounding the airport, by encouraging people to switch from private vehicles to public transportation.
No details have been provided as to when the Transjakarta airport bus service will commence operations.
AP II president director M. Awaluddin, meanwhile, said, “As the airport management, it is AP II’s duty to provide transportation mode choices to support people’s movement.”
Public transportation modes that currently connect with the airport are the airport train Railink, public bus DAMRI, JR Conexxion and conventional and app-based ride services. (vla)
