T

he Jakarta administration has filed an appeal to challenge a Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) ruling ordering it to reinstate the permit of PT Taman Harapan Indah to build islet H.

The panel of judges presided over by Edi Septa Surhaza ruled on July 9 in favor of the company, a subsidiary of property developer PT Intiland Development.

The ruling was challenged by city the administration on July 18.

“If we lose the lawsuit, then we will file an appeal to defend the administration’s legal policies in front of the judges,” Jakarta Legal Bureau head Yayan Yuhanah told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.

In September last year, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan revoked the principle permits for 13 islet reclamation projects.

The islets with revoked permits are islets A, B and E, developed by PT Kapuk Naga Indah; islets I, J and K, developed by city-owned PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol; islet M, developed by PT Manggala Krida Yudha; islets O and F, developed by PT Jakarta Propertindo; islets P and Q, developed by KEK Marunda Jakarta; islet H, developed by PT Taman Harapan Indah; and islet I, developed by PT Jaladri Kartika Pakci.

The permits for islets C and D managed by PT Kapuk Naga Indah, a subsidiary of developer Agung Sedayu Group; and islet G managed by PT Muara Wisesa Samudra (MWS), a subsidiary of PT Agung Podomoro; were unaffected as the islets have already been built.
