he selection committee for the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) submitted to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Monday the list of the 10 final candidates who will compete for the antigraft body’s top posts.
Committee chairwoman Yenti Garnasih along with her aides announced the names at the State Palace following a closed-door meeting with Jokowi on Monday afternoon.

After the meeting, Jokowi told journalists that he had requested the committee to consider insights from civil society organizations in selecting the final candidates.
“This is the era of openness. I demanded that insights from citizens as well as high profile figures be considered in scrutinizing what the selection committee has done,” the President said as quoted by Antara, adding that he was not in a rush to submit the list to the House of Representatives.
Yenti, however, denied that the committee had changed the list, which was agreed upon during a meeting on Monday morning.
“The committee is an extension of the President's authority. Therefore, this is the final result. There won’t be any change to it,” she told journalists.
