he government is seeking partnerships with financial technology (fintech) platforms to digitize its subsidy for jobseeker training, offered through the pre-employment card.

“We will work with platforms, e-wallet and fintech that specialize in e-wallet that would create a digital ecosystem,” Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said following a coordination meeting on the pre-employment card at the Office of the Coordinating Economic Minister.

He said the government had been in talks with Gojek, Tokopedia, Bukalapak and other local tech giants to realize the plan.

Every recipient will have their own account for their allowance, added Moeldoko, declining to elaborate on the technicalities of partnerships and how fintech platforms could help in, for instance, cash transfers.

Moeldoko said people could register online by answering several questions through an application, which would be assisted by officers to select suitable training options. People could still register through designated offices if necessary, he added.

The government will also assess online job portal Jobstreet surveys to determine the kind of jobs to be prioritized in the course options, said the former Indonesian Military (TNI) chief.

To ease selection and supervision, the government will also integrate every participant’s ID with their registration and receive periodical reports from companies if training takes place in the private sector.
