alaysian police are searching for an Irish teenager who went missing from a rainforest resort while on holiday, officials said Monday.

Nora Quoirin, 15, disappeared Sunday after checking in with her family to the Dusun Resort, about an hour from Kuala Lumpur.

More than a hundred people from various government agencies have been mobilised, said Che Zakaria Othman, deputy police chief of Negeri Sembilan state.

Che Zakaria told AFP it was currently classified as a missing person case, not one of abduction.

The Dusun is a 12-acre (five-hectare) resort in the foothills of a mountain range and next to a forest reserve.
