Olympic medalists Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Rizki Juniansyah and Veddriq Leonardo are among the nominees.
antini Group will present the second edition of the Santini JebreeetMedia Awards in an award ceremony on Sept. 26 in Jakarta. The event is aimed at appreciating those who have significantly contributed to the growth of the sports industry on digital platforms in the country.
As with last year’s event, Santini Group and JebreeetMedia are again teaming up to select athletes, sports observers, content creators and media organizations that have had an impact on the promotion of sports over the past year.
“Santini Group is proud to support the JebreeetMedia Awards for its second year,” Wandi Wanandi of Santini Group said in a statement.
“Sports professionals deserve ongoing support, both financially and emotionally. They need to be recognized and appreciated more. [...] many people in the sports and social media realms still lack adequate recognition,” he added.
There are 21 award categories this year – as some of the nominations are separated by gender – an increase from last year's 14 categories, when nominations were not gender-segregated.
Olympic medalists Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Rizki Juniansyah and Veddriq Leonardo are among the nominees.
Notable names such as Yuni Kartika, Debby Susanto, Berlian Marsheilla, Lucy Wiryono and Yolanda Krismonica are among the nominees for favorite female sports observers.
Justinus Lhaksana, Binder Singh, Mohamad Kusnaeni, Sapto Haryo Rajasa and Bambang Pamungkas have been nominated as the favorite male sports observers.
Media outlets that regularly cover sports, including Bolasport, Bola.com, Kompas.com, Detiksport, Antara, Goal.com and Skor.id, are also among the nominees.
Winners will be chosen based on votes from viewers on the JebreeetMedia website, with voting open from Aug. 26 to Sept. 25, before the Sept. 26 ceremony.
“The 2024 Santini JebreeetMedia Awards continues its commitment to highlight sports and its key figures, ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve,” said JebreeetMedia chief executive Valentino Simanjuntak, who is also a sports commentator.
