View all search resultsThe State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Ministry says it plans to request an additional Rp 25 trillion (US$1.68 billion) from state coffers this year to aid several state-run construction firms, many of which are burdened by debt.
Speaking during an international conference organized in the lead-up to the Group of 20 leaders summit in Bali, State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir said that since he enacted reform at the ministry to start consolidating state-owned companies, there has been a steady improvement in the firms' performance.
Of 17 government agencies, local administrations and city-owned companies selected for top performance, BPOM and the East Java provincial government won the outstanding achievement award for their responses to public complaints, their use of technology to improve the responses as well as for providing legal framework that would allow the response system to be sustainable.
The State-Owned Enterprises Ministry plans to raise money for state-owned firms through multiple rights issues in the second half of this year, followed by more than Rp 73 trillion worth of state capital injections next year.
