By Saturday afternoon, Indonesia had received more than $1.5 million worth of aid from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam and South Korea and several private institutions as well as individuals. That is only about 10 percent of the total amounts pledged.
The team, comprising 10 medical workers, two Social Agency officials as well as two Papua Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) officials, departed for Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Thursday, and will continue their journey to Mutiara Sis Al Jufri Airport in Palu from there.
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said eight Chinese citizens who were not holding permits arrived in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Sunday. They said they intended to provide help in Central Sulawesi, and that they were invited by the regent of Sigi regency.
