Big failure hits host’s women's singles in Indonesia Masters badminton
The Thailand Masters 2019 champion, Fitriani, lost 21-6, 21-17 to Yue Han of China in the Wednesday openers. Meanwhile, a young talent, Ruselli Hartawan, who showed potential in three international tournaments throughout 2019 by reaching their quarterfinals, also had to pack her bags early after losing to Michelle Li of Canada 21-14, 21-15.

Fitriani’s Masters win sparks new hope for Indonesian badminton
Two hours before Indonesian shuttler Fitriani took to the court in the 2019 Thailand Masters final on Sunday, badminton legend Susy Susanti posted a picture of the two of them with a caption that read: “Come on, Fitri. Keep up the spirit and fight for Indonesia.”
