View all search resultsThe government has banned public celebrations of Idul Adha (Day of Sacrifice), which is set to fall on Tuesday, in areas where the emergency public activity restrictions (PPKM Darurat) are in effect, to avoid further transmission of the COVID-19.
“I understand that Turkey is in an advanced stage of vaccine development. I am pleased to hear that our two research and technology ministers have discussed the possibility of cooperation in this matter,” said Jokowi.
Millions of Muslims in Indonesia observed this year's Idul Adha (Day of Sacrifice) under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic and health protocols that limited the scale of festivities, but those taking part in the celebration say they can still find solace in the holiday, both with and without their family.
We love meat so much that we slaughtered almost 400,000 heads of cattle during the celebration of Idul Adha, the Islamic Day of Sacrifice, last year. That said, Indonesian meat consumption is relatively low at 11.6 kilogram per capita, which compares to 25.8 kg in neighboring Thailand and 52.3 kg in Malaysia.
