View all search resultsCoordinator of President Jokowi's special aides Ari Dwipayana said in a press statement published on Saturday that the claim made by Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) secretary general Hasto Kristiyanto alleging that the President marshaled law enforcers to do his bidding was false and unsubstantiated.
Presidential spokesperson Bey Machmudin was quoted by Antara as saying that on Sunday President Jokowi was not present at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, which was reported to be the site of a meeting with former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Moeldoko said that those opposed to the jobs law simply lacked understanding of its core tenets, claiming that the legislation product was intended as a catalyst for a streamlined bureaucracy to entice future investments and improve national economic growth.
Presidential Chief of Staff Gen. (ret.) Moeldoko has said the government is pushing forward its plan to set up the Indonesian Military’s Joint Special Operations Command (Koopssusgab) to tackle terrorism despite criticism from several parties, including the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM).
