Finance Ministry yet to confirm new cigarette prices
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati says her ministry has yet to reach a decision on cigarette prices and excise amid reports that it plans to significantly increase prices from the current Rp 15,000 (US$1.14) to Rp 50,000 per pack.

The iconic image of the Marlboro Man — a rugged cowboy — has morphed into a chubby, cigarette-twirling toddler like Aldi, or scowling, skinny schoolboys like Ilham from West Java, whose faces are perpetually shrouded in clouds of cigarette smoke.
