Half of Jambi haj pilgrims suffering respiratory infections
The health of more than 200 haj pilgrims from Jambi had reportedly deteriorated in the days leading up to wukuf (the peak of the pilgrimage) at Arafah field in Mecca, on Aug. 31, according to the Religious Affairs Ministry.

Indonesia could benefit unused haj quotas: ICMI
The Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) has suggested the government cooperate with countries that do not use their full haj quota. ICMI chairman Jimly Asshiddiqie said strengthening coordination to use vacant haj seats belonging to other countries was a positive thing and would not violate the law.
