In addition to newly inaugurated President Prabowo Subianto, the car he rode in, produced by state-owned military vehicle producer PT Pindad, garnered significant attention on Sunday for its martial design as compared to past presidential cars.
Joko “Jokowi” Widodo wished new President Prabowo Subianto success in leading the country on Sunday as the former president returned to his hometown in Surakarta, Central Java after passing the baton to his successor.
In his first speech after being sworn in as President, Prabowo Subianto thanked his predecessor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and the country’s other past presidents, including Megawati Soekarnoputri, for their roles in building the nation.

The city's police, along with reinforcements from the National Police and the TNI, will be deployed on inauguration day to secure key venues and areas, including road closures along the routes of VVIP vehicles, while a public celebration dubbed the People's Party will be held in lieu of Car Free Day this Sunday.
Jakarta is set to deploy more than 1,000 sanitation workers and environment personnel on Oct. 20 for the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the country's eighth president and 14th vice president, respectively, likely the last inauguration day it will host as the national capital.
Prabowo is to be escorted to the State Palace by droves of supporters, while his predecessor, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will be sent off to Halim Perdanakusuma airport where he will fly to Surakarta, Central Java to retire.
