View all search resultsA full economic recovery would take at least two to three years, Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto said on Thursday following the Jakarta administration’s decision to reimpose large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) relaxed in early June.
Dicky Budiman, an Indonesian epidemiologist at Australia’s Griffith University, said Anies’ decision was bold and based on data, and he called on other administrations across Java to all impose the PSBB in order to see effective results.
“Do not let this situation reach the point where we have to pull the emergency brake,” Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said. “If that happens, we all have to go back home and economic, religious and social activities will be halted.”
