View all search resultsThe Education and Culture Ministry has granted school administrations the freedom to reallocate their respective school operational funds to address the most urgent issues related to school activities, including internet packages for online learning.
Dozens of cities and regencies in the country have violated regulations on reopening schools by neglecting the requisite health protocols or re-operating in areas with a high risk of COVID-19 transmission, the Education and Culture Ministry said on Tuesday.
"The Education and Culture Ministry has set up measures [for the reopening] and maybe in the near future the ministry's officials will announce which areas outside the green zones are allowed to reopen schools," head of the national COVID-19 task force Doni Monardo said on Monday as reported by kompas.com.
In an incident that highlights the disparities heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic, a woman in Jombang, East Java was forced to sell her goat in order to buy a mobile phone so that her children could participate in online learning,
“Teaching the pre-primary level students in a digital class can be a challenge but they can be taught through a blended way of teaching with recorded sessions included,” said Syed Tariq Shah, managing director, Brilliant Career Group of Schools.
