View all search resultsPT Transjakarta, the city-owned bus operator, is set to change the bus route connecting Ragunan, South Jakarta, to Monas, Central Jakarta, next week to avoid areas with severe traffic congestion caused by ongoing infrastructure projects on some streets.
Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia kicked off its direct route from Jakarta to London when one of its Boeing 777-300 ER planes took off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, on Tuesday to Heathrow International Airport.
Starting Monday, some Transjakarta routes will be modified to avoid severe traffic congestion at construction sites for major infrastructure projects, such as the Pancoran overpass and the Mampang-Kuningan underpass in South Jakarta.
The government is now working to upgrade the railway tracks connecting several cities in West Java – Bogor-Sukabumi-Cianjur-Padalarang-Bandung -- in addition to the fully modernized tracks from Jakarta, Bekasi, Cikampek, Purwakarta, Padalarang and Bandung.
City Council deputy speaker Triwisaksana said that the body might reject the additional Rp 16 trillion (US$1.2 billion) budget requested by PT MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) to alter the South-North line from Bundaran HI - Kampung Bandan route to Bundaran HI - Ancol Timur.
