With just one week left in office, outgoing President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo visited his hometown of Surakarta, Central Java over the weekend, where he made his debut in politics nearly two decades ago.
The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), in collaboration with the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC) under the "Sampoerna for Indonesia" Sustainability Program, along with several environmental enthusiasts, is raising awareness about waste management through various initiatives and collaborations. This includes activities such as World Clean Up Day, with the theme "Surakarta Clean Month: Love the Earth, Manage Waste to Reduce Environmental Impact for a More Beautiful Surakarta."
Outgoing President Joko Widodo insisted that he would retire and return to his hometown of Surakarta in Central Java upon ending his second term in October. The statement comes amid overwhelming support for him to play a role in the incoming administration.
