The meeting between the Tourism Ministry and the Indonesian Embassy was held in conjunction with an Indonesia Golf Sales Mission event by the Ministry’s Asia-Pacific promotions department that will be held on June 8 in Katori, Chiba.

Moreover, Junor said that promotions in Japan would be more effective if they were in Japanese and used big characters and fonts, “It might look tacky, but it is what the Japanese like. Big fonts and bold writings in Japanese are the right way to do promotion here,” Junor added.

The sales mission event is part of the ministry’s effort to achieve this year’s target of welcoming 762,000 Japanese tourists to Indonesia.

Four Golf industry sellers from Indonesia are participating in the event. They are at the frontlines of selling golf travel packages to 50 buyers consisting of travel agents, golf communities and associations in Katori.

“The economic condition of Japan is looking good, there are more job vacancies than the number of applicants. The middle and upper middle class groups are increasing in Japan, these groups are very likely to visit Indonesia,” Junor said. (asw)
