“We’ve had a meeting with the provincial administration regarding the arrival of pak JK [Jusuf Kalla] and we’re thankful that the number two person of the Indonesian Republic is coming to Selayar, this will definitely benefit Selayar regency,” said Selayar Islands regent, Muh Basli Ali.
“There are others such as a port and airport [projects] that we’re expecting pak JK to officiate, as well as several investments in fishery, agriculture and tourism sectors,” added Basli.
Takabonerate’s main event is going to celebrate the 412th anniversary of Selayar. Basli said that they are planning to give Jusuf Kalla a special traditional title at the event.
“Insya Allah [God’s willing] there’ll be a coronation of traditional title to Pak JK. We’re going to hold a meeting first with the traditional board regarding this matter,” Basli said. (asw)
