everal AirAsia flights were canceled on Friday afternoon following the eruption of Mount Merapi and closure of Yogyakarta’s Adisutjipto International Airport.
The canceled flights are AK 347, AK 348 and AK 349 (Yogyakarta - Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur – Yogyakarta), QZ 659 (Singapore – Yogyakarta), QZ 7557, QZ 7550, QZ 7551, QZ 7552 and QZ 7553 (Yogyakarta – Jakarta, Jakarta – Yogyakarta), XT 8448 and XT 8449 (Bali – Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta – Bali).
Flight AK 346 heading to Yogyakarta from Kuala Lumpur has returned to its departure airport.

AirAsia says it will inform passengers of affected flights through email and text message. Passengers are advised to ensure that their correct contact information is on their ticket.
Passengers of canceled flights will be given the option of rescheduling their flight, rerouting their journey or accepting a refund or credit.
The airline also advised passengers to keep up-to-date with information posted on the airline’s website and social media, as well as to check the My Bookings feature on the website before heading to airports.
