Located in the parking area behind Gedung Jaya office building in Central Jakarta, The Jaya Pub is among the legendary bars of the capital.

Operating from 5 p.m., it brings you back to the 1970s through its ambience, including its wooden interior and posters of classic movies and actors that are plastered along its walls.

It also has small horns hanging above several tables to be used by its customers when they are enjoying the live music – their function being similar to hand-clapping.

According to tempo.co, The Jaya Pub was established in 1975 by celebrity couple Rima Melati and the late Frans Tumbuan. Their photos are still displayed in one of the bar’s corners.
