semi-rustic cabin near San Francisco, the United States, has been revealed as the most popular Airbnb in the world, as reported by news.com.au.
Owners Kitty and Michael first listed their mushroom-shaped house in 2009 and since then have received 1299 reviews from satisfied guests as well as many five-star ratings.
“We have been listing with Airbnb since July ’09 and have had the most reservations of any of their listings,” says the cabin’s description on the Airbnb website.
Located in Monterey Bay, the cabin is just 10 minutes from the beach and the Aptos Village. Guests can go hiking or dirt biking in the redwoods of Forest Nisene Marks State Park or pet the animals on the property, including goats, chickens, cats and a parrot.

The house provides all facilities and tools guests might need for their stay. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a 32-inch flat screen TV, while a sofa can be used as a second sleeping area. Wi-Fi access, toiletries, a popcorn maker, a French press coffee machine and several ingredients to make breakfast are provided.
What makes the small wooden cabin special is its glass domed roof, deemed perfect for stargazing.
The most visited Airbnb home is currently booked until October. Friday and Saturday nights are US$160 each, but due to a minimum stay of two days and extra fees and taxes, the price for one weekend is about $428. Weekend bookings should be requested about 9 to 11 months in advance. (sop/wng)
