Fans of the Harry Potter series are no doubt familiar with the Hogwarts Express train, Platform 9 ¾ and Diagon Alley.

These iconic fantasy settings have now come to life, as visitors of the Legend Stars Park in Jatim Park 3 in Batu, East Java, have the chance to experience them firsthand.

The Diagon Alley attraction officially opened on Saturday. There, visitors can experience Harry Potter-themed activities and rent Hogwarts robes and wizarding accessories.

The Legend Stars Park operation manager Tossy Kusdianto said Diagon Alley aimed to give Indonesian "Potterheads" the experience of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter without having to fly abroad.

“We’ve prepared several zones, such as Platform 9 ¾, Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore wax figures and an animatronic dragon,” Tossy said during the launch.

He said it had taken 4.5 months for the theme park to build the attractions, but noted that, as they were far from perfect, management was continuously making improvements to make the wizarding section similar to the films.

“We also received valuable feedback from Harry Potter fans who shared with us all the details,” he added. (jes/wng)
