Prabowo was among foreign dignitaries invited by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to the National Day Parade at the Padang, an open field in Singapore’s downtown. Other dignitaries include Brunei’s ruler Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi, who represented Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, according to the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Video footage shows they drew cheers from 27,000 spectators when they were being introduced on the giant screen.
Wong wrote on Facebook on Saturday that Singapore “is honored to welcome the leaders of our closest neighbors to our SG60 National Day Parade”.
“May the bonds between our countries continue to grow from strength to strength,” he added.
Prabowo congratulated Singaporeans on X and expressed gratitude for Wong’s invitation.
“May the friendship and strategic cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore continue to be strongly fostered for our mutual prosperity,” Prabowo said.
