If you visit Belitung, Bangka Belitung, you are guaranteed to be amazed by the beauty of this island. But how to get there?

According to detik.com Anggi Agistia, in order to go to Belitung, you have to fly from Jakarta to the Bangka Island, which is adjacent to Belitung, via Bangka’s Pangkalpinang Airport. The flight takes only 50 minutes.

Then, your trip from the airport to Belitung will take approximately an hour. If you want to seek an alternative to Bali, which is now overcrowded with tourists, tranquil Belitung is the place.

Danau Kaolin (Kaolin Lake)

Thanks to its crystal-clear blue surface, people also refer to it simply as Belitung’s Blue Lake. In her writing, Anggi explains that the lake originated as an abandoned kaolinite mine. Kaolinite is a type of mineral used to manufacture pharmaceuticals, ceramics and toothpaste.

She also says that the site is very quiet and calm. Based on Anggi’s accounts, it probably would be a great idea to come here just to unwind while also bearing witness to how nature heals itself.

Kelapa Kampit open pit site

Another instance of how an abandoned mine can turn into a beautiful lake is the Kelapa Kampit open pit. With a depth of 30-50 meters, the lake’s water turns bluer the deeper you dive into it, according to a story from Kumparan TRAVEL website.

Just imagine sitting on top of the open pit, lying around and chatting while looking at the beautiful lake with its surrounding soil and plants creating a stunning image of bright blues, greens and browns. What is the view like from a tall lighthouse? Find out for yourself by climbing to the apex of a 50-meter lighthouse, built in 1882 by Indonesia’s Dutch colonists on Lengkuas Island.
