he biggest jazz event in Indonesia, BNI Java Jazz 2022, will serve as an opportunity to increase people’s understanding of digital transactions. PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero), or BNI (stock code: BBNI), is preparing all tenants and partners to support the BNI Java Jazz event with various digital payment channels to accommodate transactions without physical contact.

Corporate Secretary Mucharom said BNI Java Jazz was a very appropriate event to promote digital transactions to the public. High interest and public consumption at music events such as BNI Java Jazz would be an opportunity for BNI to introduce other digital channels.

"We will also ensure that all channels function optimally so that transactions will be more seamless at events. We hope this can add to the excitement of BNI Java Jazz this year," he added.

The excitement surrounding digital transactions, said Mucharom, would be felt upon arrival in the parking area. Visitors woul be able to use BNI Tapcash products for only Rp 1 (approximately US$0) for the first hour.

Visitors entering the concert area will be immediately greeted by various merchandise booths with items that can brought home as keepsakes of the post-pandemic Java Jazz event. There will also be various beloved food and beverage tenants that will treat the audience’s taste buds before the concert starts. The total number of food and beverage tenants will be around 50.

"Of course, all transactions will be facilitated with digital payments starting from the millennials’ favorite channel, QRIS. Then we have debit, credit and BNI Tapcash, which have been always been a mainstay throughout the history of Java Jazz," he said.

Mucharom added that the Java Jazz event would showcase other digital innovations, including the metaverse, where BNI plans to open a branch. “As a bank with the advantage of international banking, we can exhibit micro, small and medium enterprise [MSME] products that have successfully penetrated the global market," he said.
