ndonesia's largest tech firm by user base, GoTo, has seen 65 million unique customers join its super-app in the first three months of the year.
GoTo CEO Andre Soelistyo said on Friday that the number of unique customers, which is up 29 percent year-on-year (yoy), referred to people actively making transactions rather than simply opening the app.
“[GoTo] continues to optimize spending to support the company’s growth and investment objectives to reach more customers, drivers and merchants,” he said during a public briefing on Friday.

GoTo also reported that its quarterly gross transaction value (GTV) had increased 46 percent yoy to Rp 140 trillion (US$9.61 billion) in the first quarter, while the number of consumer orders in the company’s ecosystem was up 41 percent yoy at 656 million orders.
GTV is the operational metric start-ups use to measure the total value of the transactions made on their platforms. In GoTo’s case, GTV includes the total value of goods and services purchased via Gojek and Tokopedia as well as the value of the payments processed via GoPay.
The largest digital ecosystem in the archipelago of 270 million people, GoTo was formed by the merger of ride-hailing company Gojek and e-commerce platform Tokopedia in May 2021.
