T

he Manpower Ministry has issued a circular requesting that governors wait for the central government to determine the 2025 provincial minimum wages (UMP), which were supposed to be announced on Thursday.

Sunardi Manampiar Sinaga, the ministry’s head of public relations, said a new regulation, which would take into account several aspects including a Constitutional Court ruling from Nov. 1, was still under review.

“So, in accordance with Manpower Minister Yassierli’s previous statements, the government will respect and comply with the Constitutional Court’s ruling,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday, as reported by Detik Finance.

Sunardi asked “all parties to be patient” and wait for the 2025 minimum wage rules, because the government would carefully accommodate the interests of workers and employers.

“The 2025 minimum wage will increase, that’s for sure,” he said.
