he teaser trailer of Glenn Fredly The Movie premiered on YouTube in January, and the massive public reaction that it generated hints that the biopic might be poised to be one of the hottest, most anticipated feature films of 2024.
A rare Indonesian musician whose discography continues to resonate after his death, Glenn Fredly seems like a perfect muse for a biopic, with a rich, rollercoaster ride of a life that might seem like a huge mountain to conquer by the filmmakers in charge.
Film producer Daniel Mananta (Susi Susanti: Love All), director Lukman Sardi (Di Balik 98), and star Marthino Lio (Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash) had a sit-down with The Jakarta Post on Feb. 12 as they discussed their upcoming project.
"Personally, I don't see this film as a biopic," Lukman asserted. "It's a story about Glenn Fredly as a human being."
