A

father, identified only as P, killed his four young children in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, because he was jealous of his wife, identified only as D, the police alleged on Tuesday.

South Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Ade Ary Syam Indradi said the conclusion was reached after questioning 13 eyewitnesses and examining evidence.

“The motive of suspect P in committing the vile action was jealousy of his own wife, D,” Ade told reporters on Tuesday, as quoted by cnnindonesi.com.

However, Ade did not elaborate further on what made the man jealous of his wife.

“We are still focusing on the evidence for the murder case,” he said.

Ade added that the wife suffered domestic violence, leading her to seek treatment at Pasar Minggu General Hospital.
